Meet the Team

Dr. Castillo founded Brightway Dental in 2012 with a simple rule she still repeats to every new team member: treat every patient like your favorite aunt. She’s the reason our reviews mention the word “gentle” more than any other.

A UT Health San Antonio graduate, she has spent over 600 hours in continuing education in cosmetic dentistry and implantology — but she’s proudest of the wall of thank-you cards from patients who hadn’t seen a dentist in a decade before finding this office.

Outside the practice, Maya is usually at a Zilker Park picnic table with her two kids, or defending her title in the office’s monthly taco cook-off.

Dr. Reyes joined Brightway in 2017 after practicing in Houston, bringing a focus on family dentistry and clear-aligner orthodontics. He has guided more than 400 Austin smiles through Invisalign treatment.

He’s the doctor our youngest patients ask for — partly for the gentle approach, mostly for the sticker drawer and an inexhaustible supply of dad jokes. Parents appreciate that he explains everything twice: once to the kid, once to them.

Daniel spends his weekends on the Barton Creek greenbelt trails and volunteering with Texas Mission of Mercy free dental clinics.
