Cleanings & Exams in Austin
A cleaning and exam is the easiest appointment in dentistry — and the one that saves you the most money over time. We take our time, explain what we see in plain English, and never lecture.
What happens at your visit

A hygienist gently removes plaque and tartar, then polishes your teeth.

We take digital X-rays only when they’re actually due — not by default.

The dentist checks your teeth, gums, and does a quick oral cancer screening.

You get an honest summary: what’s fine, what to watch, and what (if anything) needs care.
Does it hurt?
For most people, no — you’ll feel some pressure and vibration, nothing more. If your gums are tender or you’re anxious, tell us: we’ll slow down, numb the area, or take breaks whenever you want.
How long does it take?
About 45–60 minutes. New-patient visits run a little longer so we can get to know you.
What affects the cost
from $99
- Most insurance plans cover two cleanings a year at 100%.
- A deeper cleaning (if gum disease is present) costs more and may need two visits.
- No insurance? Our membership plan covers cleanings, exams, and X-rays for a flat yearly fee.

How often do I really need a cleaning?
Every six months works for most people. If you’re prone to gum issues we may suggest every three to four months — we’ll explain why, and it’s always your call.
It’s been years since my last visit. Will I be judged?
Never. Around a third of our new patients haven’t seen a dentist in 5+ years. We’re glad you’re here now — that’s the only thing that matters.
